Big Boy Bed

We finally got Noah a big boy bed.

He has been climbing in and out of his crib and toddler bed for a long time. There just aren't many options over here for furniture so we had been putting it off. When we finally made the move we decided to go big and get bunk beds!! We had to order the mattresses and are still waiting on the top one to come in, but It's not an issue - he won't be sleeping up there for a long time. It's the perfect place for all his stuffed animals to hang out. He is loving his sleeping quarters. He even has a little light underneath to read books, and is allowed on some nights to leave the light on and turn it off when he's ready to sleep. He got the hang of that after falling asleep with it on and waking up in a sweaty hot mess.

Even though he's loving his new bed he still likes to change it up a bit and take naps in his tent.

The Race

Today Super-Mark completed an Olympic-length triathlon in Kaiserslautern, Germany

1.5 km swim~ 37 km bike~10k run

(approximately 1 mile swim~23 mile bike~6 mile run)

He finished in a lightning speed of 2 hours 48 minutes

Business & Pleasure in Garmisch, Germany

Last Wednesday, we traveled down about 5 hours to southern Germany and the border of Austria to Garmisch. The AF has an annual dental conference there that is a don't-miss! Thursday morning while Mark was working hard to stay awake, Noah and I went to Mittenwald, a famous European violin-making town. We tried to visit once before but it was the one week of the year when everything was closed!

After a long day of concentration, Mark went for a bike ride in the mountains (to start his week-long training for a triathalon).

Yep- Noah thought that was pretty funny, too!

After that it was time for a hike. Noah's highlight had to be the real train tracks, checking out all the sheds,


and throwing rocks in the water.

Friday morning was another beautiful day. Mark was back to the conference room while we went to Eibsee for a hike around the lake and more rock throwing.

Once Dad was finished it was time for a

BIKE RIDE!!!

On Saturday we took a cable car up one of the mountains and hiked in awe.
